Fulham suffered Play-Off heartbreak last season after their first serious push for a return to the Premier League since their relegation from the division in 2014 ended in failure.

Manager Slavisa Jokanovic must rally his troops ahead of the new campaign, but may have to do so without influential midfielder Tom Cairney, who has been linked with a number of Premier League sides.

The Serbian manager might need to replace his star man, who scored 13 goals and laid on a further 10 assists during the most prolific season of his career.

The former Hull man was one of the best players in the league last season, and a big money Premier League move is a just reward for the form shown by the Scottish international.

Jokanovic will need to replace the Scot, and will find this extremely difficult to do.

A number of names will be on the shortlist of the manager, but one wildcard could emerge as a solid piece of business this summer.

Norwich City’s Youssouf Mulumbu - valued at just £2.13m on Transfermarkt - has fallen out of favour at Carrow Road, and will leave the club this summer when his contract expires in the coming weeks.

Mulumbu was a Premier League regular with West Brom from 2009-2015, and impressed in the Baggies midfield throughout his six-year spell in the West Midlands.

The Democratic Republic of Congo midfielder is still only 30, and if he can rediscover the form he showed at West Brom, he could be a surprise at Fulham next season.

Available on a free, the marauding midfielder represents a low risk, high reward alternative to Cairney, and Jokanovic should consider offering the player a contract this summer.
