Aitor Karanka is putting his plans in place for the 2018/19 campaign, as he looks to help Nottingham Forest overcome an extremely disappointing year in the Sky Bet Championship.

Forest struggled to 17th in the Championship, although there was a series of improved performances following Karanka’s arrival at the City Ground.

The Spaniard is already shaping his squad ahead of next season, with Michael Dawson’s arrival confirmed earlier in the week.

There will be others on Karanka’s radar this summer, with the Nottingham Forest squad facing a huge overhaul, following such a disappointing year in the Championship.

Things will be bubbling away at the City Ground, with the transfer window in full swing now as we enter June.

With that in mind, here is a look at THREE deals we are expecting Karanka and Forest to complete over the course of this month…

Marriott is in-demand this summer, after bagging over 30 goals for Peterborough United during the 2017/18 campaign.

Forest are amongst the clubs said to be interested in the striker and Karanka will surely be looking to strike a deal.

Should Forest meet Peterborough’s valuation, a deal could be done quickly.

Dawson was one free agent on Forest’s radar and Marney is another one.

The experienced midfielder has also been linked with a move to the City Ground, and with nothing standing in Forest’s way in terms of negotiating, a deal seems straightforward if Karanka wants it to happen.

Tomlin was very good at Forest on-loan during the second-half of the season.

It remains to be seen if he is in Cardiff City’s Premier League plans, but Karanka will surely be considering a move to bring the midfielder back to Nottingham.

If Tomlin is identified as a target, a deal could be there to be done.
