Derby County are set for a new era after they appointed Frank Lampard as their next manager.

Following Gary Rowett's decision to leave Pride Park and move to Stoke City, Derby were left searching for a new boss.

And rather than opt for tried and tested, they have gone for a risk and given the job to Lampard, who has no managerial experience but is highly regarded within the game and could attract some names to Derby.

The Rams are hoping to build upon this season's sixth place finish, which led to a play-off semi-final loss against eventual winners Fulham, as they look to finally win promotion back to the Premier League after 11 seasons in the second tier.

Lampard needs to be shrewd in the transfer market and he will already be scouring the market for targets.
