Coventry City occupy fourth spot in the Championship table at present, having accumulated 23 points from their opening 12 games.

The Sky Blues, who are at the beginning of the second season back in the Championship after winning promotion back to the division during the 2019/20 campaign, have an immaculate record on home soil this year, winning all six of their matches at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

It is the Midlands club's away from that is currently holding them back from an even better start to the season, with Mark Robins' side accumulating just five points from their six games on their travels.

Coventry will be hoping to somewhat rectify that record when they travel to Preston tonight, with The Lilywhites struggling to secure all three points in their matches this season.

Frankie McAvoy's side, who find themselves in 18th place, have drawn six of their last seven matches, proving that they are tough to beat.

Here, we take a look at how Coventry could line up for this evening's contest at Deepdale...

Simon Moore is proving to be an excellent summer addition, and there is no reason why he will not be handed another start against Preston.

The back three is likely to consist of the same three who started on Saturday, with mainstays in Dominic Hyam and Kyle McFadzean likely to be deployed next to Michael Rose.

Ian Maatsen returns from a one-game suspension, and as a result, he is likely to be thrown straight back into the starting line up.

On the other flank, Fankaty Dabo will battle for a place with Todd Kane, but it is likely to be the former who is given the nod.

The Sky Blues have a plethora of midfield options, who have all made a case for inclusion so far this season, however, a combination of Liam Kelly and Gustavo Hamer are perhaps the favoured two at present.

Callum O'Hare has once again been an influential player within Coventry's ranks, being a constant source of chances and positivity, and subsequently, he should start in a role just behind the forward two.

Tyler Walker played over 45 minutes for the first time against Blackburn Rovers at the weekend, repaying Robins' faith with a goal, and his performance should be enough for him to retain his place next to one of the division's brightest sparks from early this season, Viktor Gyokeres.
