These are exciting times for Leeds United, who are embarking on a new chapter under Marcelo Bielsa.

Bielsa has been appointed as Leeds’ head-coach on a two-year deal, with the Argentine taking over a squad who struggled in the Sky Bet Championship last season.

Many are expecting big changes at LS11 under Bielsa, from the system to the training ground’s layout.

Bielsa will be busy during the rest of the summer too, looking to reshape the squad Thomas Christiansen and Paul Heckingbottom left behind.

Currently, Leeds haven’t brought any fresh faces on board, but of course, that is expected to change.

It remains to be seen if that changes before Leeds’ first pre-season clash with Forest Green Rovers in mid-July, with Bielsa set to welcome back a similar playing squad to what Heckingbottom left behind.

Here is a look at an experimental XI Bielsa could field in his favoured 3-3-1-3 formation against Forest Green…

Leeds are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper, but will have no problem handing Peacock-Farrell the gloves early in pre-season, giving the Northern Irish international a chance to stake a claim for the No.1 jersey.

Shaughnessy broke onto the scene last season, impressing at centre-back.

An ex-midfielder, Shaughnessy is good on the ball and Bielsa could be keen on the way he plays.

Bielsa has a reputation of turning midfielders into centre-backs, with Forshaw the obvious choice from his current crop.

Pontus Jansson has been on World Cup duty, with Leeds yet to strengthen their other centre-back options.

For now, Cooper might be involved, with a big pre-season facing last season’s captain.

Leeds missed Ayling last season, with the defender struggling with injury post-Christmas.

Getting some minutes in Ayling’s legs needs to be the aim in pre-season.

Klich had hardly any opportunities to impress last season, with the Polish midfielder shipped out on-loan in January.

Bielsa should see what Klich can offer.

Pearce impressed last season at left-back and should thrive further forward in Bielsa’s unorthodox formation.

It’ll be a battle between Hernandez and Samu Saiz for the No.10 role at Elland Road, with no room for both.

Hernandez deserves the chance to impress first.

We’ve not seen Roberts in a Leeds shirt yet, with pre-season set to be his first opportunity.

Pushed right forward under Bielsa, Roberts has a good opportunity to impress his new boss.

Leeds are on the lookout for a new No.9, but no signing has been made, leaving Roofe with another chance to stake a claim.

We saw Heckingbottom give Ryan Edmondson a chance, but Bielsa could like Clarke’s direct approach.

The 17-year-old should be given a chance over Ezgjan Alioski.
