Derby County are well in the mix for that automatic spot behind Wolves at the moment in the Championship.

The Rams have gone along very nicely in recent weeks and Gary Rowett is underlining his managerial prowess once again in getting them involved in the promotion battle.

The challenge for him and his players is to keep going, then, and that certainly applies to our latest FLW Spotlight subject - Matej Vydra:

When you think about candidates for the top scorer in the league in the Championship, the likes of Leon Clarke, Leo Bonatini and Diogo Jota all probably come to mind.

Many, though, perhaps forget about Vydra and wrongly, too, with him currently the top scorer in the division for the men from Pride Park.

Though of course an attacking talent, Vydra is not what you'd call an out and out striker with him instead playing in behind the main attacking focal point.

It speaks volumes, then, as to how good he has been and how hard he is to pick up for opposing players as he works between the lines.

What's most impressive, though, is the fact that Vydra takes a relatively few amount of shots a game for someone with so many goals.

He's taken just 2.2 shots a game on average this season but still plundered the goals he has, meaning his accuracy in front of goal is lethal.

He still doesn't seem to get the credit he deserves at the moment, though, and perhaps that is why he is proving so good, opponents aren't giving him enough attention.
