Maddison is likely to leave in the summer. so Norwich need to start planning for a replacement.

Norwich may be in 13th place, but Maddison has had a stunning season which has got plenty of Premier League clubs interested in his signature.

These performances saw him rewarded with a call-up to the England Under-21s where he impressed.

His career has been quite unusual compared to other young English stars because he worked his way up the English league tables as well as going out on loan to Aberdeen in Scotland.

However, his hard work has paid off because he is close to landing a dream Premier League move. Liverpool and Tottenham are just two of the clubs who have recently expressed interest in signing him in the summer.

Finding a replacement for Maddison will be hard due to his mixture of creativity and goalscoring which has seen him score 14 goals as well as assisting eight in the league. However, Nick Powell could be the ideal replacement. He is three years older at 24-years-old, but this means he is more likely to be able to make an instant impact, although he doesn’t have Maddison’s sky-high potential.

Powell has proved that he is a step above League 1 in his time with Wigan and made an impressive cameo against Southampton in the FA Cup even though they lost 2-0. This season he has scored 15 times as well as assisting six with an average of a goal every two games.

He has played for a variety of clubs since leaving Manchester United which means he has experience in the top three tiers of English football even though he is still young as well as playing in League 2 for Crewe Alexandra prior to that. Interestingly, he has also played in the Champions League as well as the Europa League where he scored three goals.

Therefore, he could act as a suitable replacement for Maddison and allow them to profit substantially from the move without spending a huge amount on him.
