14 clean sheets: The perfect Butland replacement at Stoke but Bristol City should also swoop

A trio of clubs are interested in Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson his summer, according to The Sun.

Premier League side Fulham will rival Championship duo Stoke City and Bristol City for the young goalkeeper’s signature with just £1m being enough to capture him.

But would he be a good signing for the Championship duo? FLW shines a spotlight on his 2017/18 season stats during his loan spell at Shrewsbury Town in League One and considers whether he would fit in at Stoke or Bristol City.

In 38 games, Henderson kept an impressive 14 clean sheets and conceded just 32 goals.

He also saved four penalties to help his team stay solid at the back.

These stats show just why he is rated so highly and why Shrewsbury did so well last season – eventually losing in extra-time in the play-off final.

The 21-year-old is now ready to make the step up to the Championship and he would be a great addition for either club.

Stoke need a new stopper if Jack Butland heads back to the Premier League as expected and Henderson would be a suitable replacement.

The England youth international is already good enough to play for their first-team and he would be the long-term successor to Butland.

But Bristol City should definitely compete with the Potters for Henderson, offering him the chance to take over from Frank Fielding between the sticks.

£1m for one of the country’s hottest prospects and a goalkeeper that could potentially serve you for between 10 and 15 years is an absolute snip and a complete no-brainer for either side.
