Middlesbrough battled back from a goal down to secure a 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

The first half was an even affair with neither side really getting a grip of the game.

It was the visitors who made the breakthrough in the second half when Lewis Travis linked up well with Adam Armstrong to give Blackburn the lead.

However Middlesbrough battled back and got their reward when Hayden Coulson slotted home after Lewis Wing's long range effort was parried.

Both sides battled for the winner but neither was able to get the deciding goal.

Several Middlesbrough players were key to the late fightback, but none contributed more over 90 minutes than Lewis Wing.

We took to Wyscout to assess the figures behind his excellent display.

Middlesbrough struggled to create many clear-cut chances until the second half, but there was one man who was key to everything the home side created.

Lewis Wing started the game and played all 99 minutes of the action with the first half having a huge six minutes of stoppage time due to an injury.

The midfielder is regarded as Middlesbrough's most creative midfielder and that came across in his passing figures.

Wing had a pass accuracy of 72%, a stat which is fairly impressive considering the make up of the passes attempted.

The 24-year-old completed four successful long passes during the game, while also adding adding four completed passes into the final third during the match.

But his performance wasn't just limited to his possession play.

Can you remember these former Middlesbrough strikers? Let's find out!

Lewis Wing has added a defensive element to his game and that was evident against Blackburn Rovers.

Over the course of the game the midfielder won an impressive 13 duels while also making an impressive eight interceptions.

Many would regard him as Middlesbrough's most complete midfielder, and based on the numbers behind his display against Blackburn Rovers it's hard to argue.
