Blackburn Rovers will be hoping they can finish this year's league campaign strongly, as they target a top-six finish in the Championship under the management of Tony Mowbray. 

The Lancashire-based side are currently sat eighth in the second tier standings, and are just two points adrift of the play-off places with eight matches remaining this term.

Van la Parra has been a free agent since his time with Serbian side () came to an end.

The winger has experience of playing in the Championship as well, having played his part in Huddersfield Town's promotion-winning season.

Carroll was most recently with Swansea City, but the club terminated his contract in January.

He has previously been on the books with the likes of Aston Vill and Spurs in the past, so he could be a useful addition to have in the Blackburn squad in the final eight matches of this year's campaign.

Strinic has been without a club for the 2019/20 season, after his spell with AC Milan came to an end.

His experience could be handy in the race for promotion as Blackburn look to keep their squad fresh during a busy schedule.

The Slovakian international was most recently with Turkish side Konyaspor, but is now a free agent after leaving the club in March.

Like Strinic, his experience could be useful for Tony Mowbray's side in the race to finish inside the top-six this term.

Mikel has been a free agent since his spell with Turkish side Trabzonspor came to an end, and he could be tempted by a return to England.

The former Chelsea midfielder had previously been on the books with Middlesbrough in the Championship.

Anichebe has been a free agent since the summer of 2018, after his time with Chinese side Beijing Enterprises reached a conclusion.

He has previously been with Everton and Sunderland, and if he can recapture his best form, then he could be a useful player to have in the Blackburn squad.

The winger will become a free-agent when his contract with Mexican side CF Pachuca reaches a conclusion at the end of June.

Iturbe has previously played for Roma, Torino, and AFC Bournemouth in a brief loan spell, and could be a find addition to Tony Mowbray's men.

The 30-year-old has been without a club since February he left Saudi Arabian club Al-Fateh.

Pinto could be a useful addition to have in the Blackburn squad, as they look to add depth to their team ahead of a busy schedule.

Lukoki has been a free agent since April when his time with Bulgarian champions Ludogorets came to an end.

The winger is still only 27, and could be worth a punt by Blackburn, who could benefit from having additional depth in wide areas of their squad.

Smith is a free-agent after his brief spell with Sunderland reached a conclusion after the League One season finished early due to off-the-field events.

He has a considerable amount of experience of playing in the Football League, having made over 200 appearances for Ipswich Town early in his career.

McCormack has been hugely impressive with Leeds United and Fulham earlier in his career.

But he is now a free agent after his time with Aston Villa came to an end, and he might feel as though he has unfinished business in the Championship.

It has recently been confirmed by Hull that Maddison will leave them when his loan spell reaches a conclusion.

Therefore, he is free to talk to other clubs in the summer, and he could be a useful addition to have in the Blackburn squad.
