West Bromwich Albion are likely destined to return to the Championship after just a one year stay in the Premier League - solidifying themselves as the real yo-yo team of English football.

Sam Allardyce has been unable to work his usual magic to try and get the Baggies out of the relegation zone, and unless a miracle occurs it looks like it's back to the second tier for the club.

The Baggies have bounced between the top flight and the Championship in the 21st century, and during that time there have been players that have come and gone from The Hawthorns without making an impact at all.

Let's look at 11 of those players that hardly appeared for the club during their time in the Midlands.

Best known as being a back-up goalkeeper at Manchester United, Lindegaard made the switch to the Baggies in 2015 in search of more first-team football.

He wasn't to get it though - he played just once for the club before departing to join Preston North End, initially on loan but then permanently.

A promising youngster at Bury, Worrall was picked up by Albion for just £50,000 as a teenager, and made his debut in the League Cup as a 17-year-old just a few months after signing.

That would be his only Baggies appearance though - Worrall went on multiple loan spells before rejoining Bury permanently in 2010; he's now at Port Vale at the age of 30.

Roberts was highly thought of at West Brom and became only the second player born in 1999 to play in the Premier League when he made his debut as a substitute against Liverpool in 2016 - that would be his only Baggies game.

After multiple EFL loan spells though, Roberts made a permanent move to Leeds United for £2.5 million after his path to the WBA first-team was blocked, and he's become a key part of Marcelo Bielsa's squad, mainly as a rotational player though.

Some West Brom fans are probably thinking - who?

It's easy to forget about Uruguayan defender Martinez, who joined on loan in 2006 from Defensor Sporting in his home nation.

Martinez played just twice but actually scored a goal away at Everton, but it would be his only contribution to the Baggies.

After becoming Gent's star player over in Belgium, winger El Ghanassy was picked up by West Brom on a season-long loan in 2012 with the option to make it permanent.

He never really impressed though for the club, and just halfway into his loan spell the Baggies decided enough was enough and he was packed back to Gent after playing just three times - all in cup competitions.

Pritchard starred for Brentford on loan in the Championship in 2014/15, and in the second half of the following season he was given a chance in the Premier League with West Brom.

The attacking midfielder only played three times though for West Brom before going back to Tottenham - that didn't affect his price though as Norwich purchased him for £8 million.

Montero spent six years at Swansea City but had four spells away from the club on loan, with one of them coming at West Brom in the 2018-19 season.

The Ecuadorian appeared just four times though, scoring once before he headed back to South Wales with no permanent deal in sight.

Blanco starred for Ukrainian side Metalist Kharkiv between 2011 and 2014 before being picked up by the Baggies for £1.8 million.

It never worked out for the Argentinian though, who made just three league appearances for the club in one season before departing for San Lorenzo in his home country, and since 2017 he's been at Portland Timbers in the MLS where he has found success.

After starring for Australia at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Davidson swapped Heracles Almelo for West Bromwich Albion.

Davidson didn't have a good time of things though, appearing just five times over the course of the season before finding a new home after just one year with Huddersfield Town.

Galloway was tipped to be a big star at MK Dons, which led to Everton buying him in 2014, and he was sent to the Baggies in 2016 to gain more experience.

They paid £1 million to take him for the season but West Brom rarely used him - Galloway played just five times and Everton ended up recalling him a month before the end of the season.

Galloway is now at Luton Town where injury has blighted his career.

Bifouma arrived on January deadline day in 2014 on loan from Espanyol, with the view to make it a permanent deal if things were a success.

Despite scoring twice for the Baggies in the second half of the season, Bifouma only appeared six times and it led to the club not taking up the permanent option - he's now plying his trade in China for Shenzhen as a 28-year-old.
