Over the years, there have been plenty of players who have pulled on the famous red and white shirts of Southampton.

Some inevitably, will have made a much bigger impact at St Mary's than others, and will therefore be better remembered by the club's fanbase.

But how well do you remember some of those who did not make quite as significant an impact during their time on the south coast?

Here, we've taken a look at 11 players who you may not remember actually played for the Saints at senior level, given their brief time with the club's first-team.

How many of these names do you recognise?

We start this list with Stephen O'Halloran, who joined Southampton on a month-long loan deal from Aston Villa late in January 2008.

That loan would not be a particularly productive one, with the defender coming on as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 defeat to Norwich that same month, his only appearance before returning to his parent club.

Having previously played for the likes of Barcelona, Juventus and Sevilla, much will have been expected of Caceres when he joined Southampton on a short-term deal in February 2017.

However, the Uruguayan international made just a single appearance for the club, in a 2-1 win at Middlesbrough in May 2017, and was released by the Saints later that month.

A former Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid academy product, Falque joined Southampton on loan from Tottenham in January 2012.

That move would see the striker make just a single appearance for Southampton, in a 2-0 defeat at home to Leicester later that same month, and not surprisingly, he returned to Spurs at the end of that season.

After graduating through the youth ranks at Southampton, Gape signed his first professional contract with the club in May 2013, at 17-years-old.

The midfielder would make his debut as a last minute substitute in a win at Everton in December 2014, what would prove to be his sole appearance for the club before making a loan move to Wycombe permanent in 2017.

Another player to come through the youth ranks at Southampton who now plays for Wycombe, is Jason McCarthy.

The right-back's one and only appearance for the Saints also came in December 2014, this time as a late substitute in a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace, with the 25-year-old now in his third spell at Adams Park, having also spent time with Barnsley and Millwall.

Having joined Southampton's youth ranks from Arsenal in 2014, Olumola would make his one and only senior appearance for the South coast club as a 19-year-old in October 2016.

That came as a substitute for an injured Jay Rodriguez in a League Cup win over Sunderland, and having subsequently spent the 2017/18 on loan with Yeovil, Olomola left St Mary's permanently to join his current club, League Two side Scunthorpe, in the summer of 2018.

A graduate of Southampton's academy, Rowe would make just two senior appearances for the club.

Both would come as a late substitute during the Saints' 2013/14 campaign, coming off the bench in wins over Barnsley and Bristol City, but failure to add to that tally saw the winger depart in the summer of 2015.

All three of White's appearances for Southampton would come in the Championship during the 2008/09 season.

The striker started in victory over Derby and defeat to Blackpool in August 2008, coming off the bench in a win at Doncaster the following month, but left the club in 2010, having been unable to add to those appearances for the Saints.

Bignall joined Southampton on loan from Reading in October 2010, but would struggle to make an impact at St Mary's.

All three of the striker's appearances for the club would come off the bench in the second half of League One games, featuring a defeat at Huddersfield, and then wins over Notts County and Dagenham and Redbridge before returning to his parent club.

Having come through the club's youth ranks, Hoskins made his first appearance for Southampton as an 18-year-old, as a late substitute in a League Cup win over Swindon in August 2011.

The striker would go on to make two more appearances for the Saints, both as late substitutes in the cup competitions over the next two season, before leaving to join Yeovil Town permanently in the summer of 2013.

Gasmi joined Southampton from French top-flight side Strasbourg on a season-long loan deal with the option to buy, on the final day of the 2008 summer transfer window.

The forward would however, have to wait until November 2008 to make his debut for the club, with what proved to be one of just four substitute appearances for the Saints, who perhaps unsurprisingly, did not make the move permanent.
