Nathan Jones and his Luton Town charges will be aiming to get back to winning ways next weekend at Kenilworth Road as the Hatters play host to promotion-chasing Swansea City in the Sky Bet Championship.

Comfortably sitting in mid-table in what has been a campaign that has showcased a lot of promise, the second tier side are arguably just a win away from securing their status once more after vastly improving on last season's heroics.

With games still to come against a handful of sides below them in the league standings, most if not all of the squad will be confident of seeing the season off in style as they continue to reap the rewards of having Jones back at the helm.

Here, we take a look at 11 players that you probably forgot ever played for Luton Town.

Currently out on loan at Bristol City from parent club Fulham, Mawson once made one sole appearance for Luton and has since gone on to have a brilliant career that has spanned both the Championship and Premier League in more recent times. A ball-playing centre back by trade, the defender has been praised for his assurance in possession and aerial ability, earning him a big move from Swansea to the Whites a few years back. He'll certainly be looking to make a big impression under Nigel Pearson over the next few months before he then gets recalled to Craven Cottage by Scott Parker in the summer.

A towering defender, Inniss once turned out for the Hatters on one occasion back in 2014 in what was one of a series of loan spells that the player took in whilst on the books of Crystal Palace. During seven years with the Eagles, the 25-year-old failed to make a single league appearance for the South London side and took in other loan spells with the likes of Southend United, Yeovil Town and Port Vale before departing permanently for Charlton Athletic. He has made five appearances for the Addicks since joining up with Lee Bowyer's side last year and has arguably failed to really fulfill his potential yet as he enters the prime years of his career.

One of the elder statesman of the lower reaches of the Football League, Baptiste is still going strong at the age of 35 and once made two appearances for Luton Town during what has been a long a varied career for the defender. Best known for his spells with Blackpool and Mansfield Town back in his early days, the powerful Bolton man is adept at playing at both centre and full back. He is currently hoping to get Bolton Wanderers back up to Sky Bet League One at the first time of asking and is one of their most experienced squad members.

An Irish striker who previously had a loan spell with the Hatters back in 2019, Connolly is rated very highly by his current side Brighton and Hove Albion and shot to the attention of Premier League fans around the world when he scored twice against Tottenham Hotspur in a 3-0 victory back in October 2019. Still aged just 21, the Galway born frontman will be hoping to attain more in the way of game time this term, with Graham Potter largely plucking for the more experienced Neal Maupay up top, with Connolly instead providing adequate back up for the Frenchman.

Another striker who has largely made a big impact at clubs away from Luton, Cummings once played five games for the Hatters before departing in 2019. He is best known for his prolific spell at boyhood club Hibernian, in which the player scored 55 league goals in over 100 games for the Scottish Premier League side before getting his move to Nottingham Forest. Spells at Rangers, Peterborough United and Shrewsbury Town followed before the frontman moved back to his native Scotland with Dundee this year. He has made a flying start to his career with his current club, scoring four goals in his first five league outings, underlining his predatory instincts in front of goal.

A midfield player with undoubted talent and ability, Downes previously played 10 games for the Hatters before leaving in May 2018. He has spent his entire career with his boyhood club Ipswich Town and will no doubt be keen to get the Tractor Boys back to the Championship at the second attempt this season after they fell short in the promotion race in the last campaign. He has been touted to make a move away from Portman Road in recent years with Crystal Palace said to hold an interest in the deep-lying playmaker, however no offers were forthcoming last summer and the player has stayed put and just focused on his football for the Blues.

A tall and powerful centre back, Goodman is currently on the books of Ebbsfleet United in the English non league system and once spent a short spell with Luton which ended back in 2013. Having come through the academy system at Millwall, big things were expected of the defender, however he didn't even make one league appearance during his four year spell in the first team with the Lions and as a result departed on several loan spells. Temporary moves to the likes of AFC Wimbledon, Aldershot and Staines Town followed before he departed permanently for Margate. Now aged 27, he has been a mainstay in non league since 2015.

Formerly on the books of AFC Bournemouth as a youngster, Stockley previously had a loan spell with the Hatters back in 2015 in which he notched up three leagues goals in 13 appearances. Now at Preston North End in the Championship, the 27-year-old frontman carved out his reputable goal scoring reputation during his successful spell with Exeter City, in which he scored 35 goals before his move to Deepdale in 2019. Having struggled since his move to Lancashire, Stockley now finds himself out on loan with Charlton Athletic in League One as the Addicks continue to push for promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking.

A six foot seven inch keeper, Macey previously had a loan spell with the Hatters back in 2017 after arriving from his boyhood Arsenal and went on to make just 11 league appearances for the club before returning to the Emirates Stadium. During seven years on the books of the Gunners, the shot stopper never made a league appearance for the side and also spent time out on loan with Accrington Stanley and Plymouth Argyle in a bid to aid his development. Now aged 26, the Bath-born keeper joined his current club, Hibernian earlier this year and will be seeking to make a long-lasting impression for his new side.

Something of a Football League journeyman, Pigott previously spent time out on loan with the Hatters back in 2016 and found the net on four occasions for the side before returning to his then parent club at the time, Charlton Athletic. Various temporary spells at several EFL clubs then led to the player making a permanent move to his local non league side Maidstone United before AFC Wimbledon snapped him up in January 2018. Over 100 games later for the Dons and Pigott is something of a legend in South London with his goal scoring exploits in yellow and blue having made him one of the most potent frontmen in the lower reaches of the Football League.

A technically gifted midfield player, Butterfield originally turned out for Luton between 2019 and 2020 before departing the club for pastures new with Melbourne Victory. He made his name as a youngster with Barnsley, making over 80 appearances in the league for the Tykes before earning a move to Norwich City. His spell at Carrow Road was short lived however with the player then going on to make permanent moves to Middlesbrough, Huddersfield Town and Derby County in between taking in loan spells at Bolton, Crystal Palace, Sheffield Wednesday and Bradford City in what has been a long yet frustrating career for the 30-year-old.
