Coventry City have had plenty of ups and downs over the years, with the club now playing their football in the Championship under the management of Mark Robins.

The Sky Blues are currently sat 20th in the second-tier standings, and are just six points clear of the relegation zone heading into their final 11 matches of this year's campaign.

The club's supporters will be eager to see their side avoid relegation back into League One after one season back in the second-tier.

A number of players have come and gone in the club's history, with some making more of an impact than others.

We take a look at 11 players you could be forgiven for forgetting ever played for Coventry City over the years.

Find out which player is first up, on the next page....

Loza is first up on the list, with the forward making just one appearance in his time with Coventry City, in a loan spell from Norwich City in 2013.

The spell was only a 28-day loan spell at the Ricoh Arena, and the forward struggled to make a notable impact in his time with the club.

Loza went on to have five other loan spells elsewhere whilst with Norwich City, and it came as no surprise to see him leave the club in 2016.

He is currently playing his football with Vanarama National League side Woking, where he has gone on to make 33 appearances for the club, who are currently sat 18th in the table.

It's safe to say that Henderson has had quite an interesting career path, which has taken an interesting turn in recent years.

The Irishman signed for the club on loan whilst contracted to Arsenal in 2012, but struggled for consistent game time with the Sky Blues.

Henderson made just two appearances in total for Coventry City, with his spell with the club being disrupted with injuries, which saw him return to Arsenal in December 2012.

The midfielder has spent the last four years of his career in Bulgaria, and is currently turning out for OFC Pirin Blagoevgrad, which is a club he signed for back in 2019.

Martin Johansen is next up, with the midfielder catching the eye with some impressive performances for Danish giants F.C. Copenhagen.

He made the move to Coventry City in 1997, but his stay with the English club was a brief one, as he made just two appearances for the club whilst they were playing their football in the Premier League.

Johansen left the club in 1998, and later went on to return to Denmark, as he signed for Lyngby, before signing for FC Nordsjælland, where he played the final few seasons of his professional career, before calling time on his playing days in 2003.

Johansen's twin brother Michael coped better in the Premier League though, as he regularly played for Bolton Wanderers over a four-year spell with them.

Schmeichel made nine appearances for Coventry City back in 2009, whilst on loan from Manchester City.

The goalkeeper returned to Manchester City the following season admitted that he regretted signing a new contract with the Premier League club.

The shot-stopper left the club to sign for Notts County in 2009, before joining Leeds the following year. The Danish international has been playing his football with Leicester City since 2011.

Schmeichel has featured heavily for Leicester whilst they've been in European competitions in the past.

He has made 413 appearances for the Foxes in total so far, and has certainly gone on to bigger and better things since leaving Coventry City.

Spence only made three senior appearances for Coventry City, after signing for the club after a spell with Crystal Palace back in 2014.

The Croydon-born midfielder made his Coventry debut against Wycombe Wanderers in the Football League Trophy in September 2014 as a late substitute.

He was offered a professional contract by the Sky Blues in 2015, but opted against committing his future to the club, and left when his contract reached a conclusion.

Spence has gone on to play for the likes of Hampton & Richmond Borough and Kingstonian, before moving over to Norway to play for Valdres.

But he is now playing his football for Øygarden, which is the club he's been with since 2020.

Folivi certainly endured a forgetful spell with Coventry City, whilst on loan from Watford in 2017.

The forward signed for the club in January 2017 on loan for the remainder of the 2016/17 season, but spent the majority of his time with the club in the treatment room with an ankle injury.

He was an unused substitute in the club's 2-1 win over Oxford United in the 2017 EFL Trophy final at Wembley.

Folivi only made one appearance for the Sky Blues in his time with the club, which came as a late substitute for Marcus Tudgay on the final day of the season.

Philliskirk had previously been on the books with Chelsea in the early stages of his career, but left the club in 2011.

He signed for Coventry City on a short-term deal from Sheffield United, but made just one appearance in his time with the Sky Blues.

The forward went on to sign for Oldham Athletic, and found much-needed game time in the Football League with the Latics.

Philliskirk is currently playing his football with National League side AFC Fylde, after being released from Blackpool at the end of the 2017/18 season, after a two-year spell with the Tangerines, where he scored 11 goals in 72 appearances for the club.

Doyle spent 12 years with Birmingham City's first-team, but struggled for a consistent run in the starting XI with the Blues.

That resulted in him heading out on loan to a number of different clubs over the years, including the likes of Nottingham Forest, Millwall and Coventry City.

He signed on loan with the Sky Blues back in 2010, but only made one appearance for the club, which came against Morecambe, as he covered for Keiren Westwood who was ruled out of action through injury.

But Birmingham recalled him just days later to cover for Ben Foster, who also picked up an injury to keep him out of the matchday squad.

El Idrissi might be one of the most forgetful faces that have played for Coventry City over the years.

The French-born midfielder signed for the Sky Blues on a trial basis in 2006, and made one appearance for the club, despite not signing a professional contract with them.

He went on to sign for Swiss side FC Luzern later that year instead. El Idrissi featured for the Moroccan national side during his career, but for one reason or another, his spell with Coventry City didn't work out.

Baker-Richardson came through Coventry City's academy, but only made one senior appearance for the club's first-team, before leaving in 2014.

He went on trial with Leicester City later down the line in his career in 2017, but went on to sign for Swansea City on a two-year deal.

After being released from his contract with the Swans in 2020, Baker-Richardson signed for League Two side Barrow. But he is currently playing his football away from them, and is on loan with Vanarama National League side Barnet.

Barnet are currently sat 22nd in the fifth-tier of English football, and will be hoping they can put together a positive run of results at the earliest of opportunities, as they look to finish as high as possible in the table.

Malaga's spell with Coventry City wasn't a memorable one whatsoever, with the Frenchman making just two appearances for the Sky Blues.

After spending the whole of his career in France, Malaga opted to move to Coventry City in 2012, after his contract with Nice wasn't renewed by the club.

After struggling for regular game time in the early stages of his time with the club, Coventry opted to send him out on loan to non-league side Nuneaton Borough.

But that wasn't enough to see him force his way into the starting XI with Coventry, and the central defender mutually terminated his contract with the club in September 2013.
