AFC Bournemouth will be keen to make an immediate return to the Premier League under Jonathan Woodgate this season.

The Cherries sit just outside of the Championship play-off places, with Barnsley making it seven wins on the bounce at the weekend and propelling themselves up to sixth.

Bournemouth are unbeaten in three but were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw at Preston North End at the weekend, and will be keen to return to winning ways as soon as possible.

Whichever division Bournemouth find themselves in next season, whoever takes charge permanently will be keen to reshape their squad, with plenty of high-earners still on the books following their relegation from the Premier League last term.

Departures are likely to materialise, but can you remember any of these former players? You probably forget they ever played for the club...

Atsu is currently massively out of favour at Newcastle United under Steve Bruce.

The winger is yet to be involved in a single Premier League matchday squad this season, and his only game time came against Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup for the best part of 10 minutes.

In 2015/16, Atsu spent time on loan at Bournemouth, making only two appearances for the club which both came in the League Cup.

He failed to make a single matchday squad in the league during his spell on the South Coast.

He certainly failed to make his mark and impress away from St. James' Park.

Cranie is a vastly experienced player at this level, with the Luton Town defender having spells with the likes of Southampton, Portsmouth, Coventry, Barnsley and Huddersfield Town in his career.

In 2004, the Yeovil-born centre-half was sent on his first ever loan spell, with Bournemouth swooping to take him in the first half of the campaign.

He made three appearances for the Cherries in total, but they failed to extend his loan deal and his time at the club came to an end.

He will have learnt a lot of lessons during his time on the South Coast and would have shaped him into a better player.

Lallana did come through the ranks at Bournemouth, but he spent most of his youth career at Southampton.

In 2007, he returned to Bournemouth, joining the then-League One side on loan for a month.

During that brief loan spell, Lallana made only three appearances in League One, before returning to Southampton and becoming a key player for the Saints.

Now at Brighton and Hove Albion, Lallana clearly enjoys playing down south. He is arguably one of the most talented midfielders Southampton have had, and also played a key role at Liverpool in the early stages of Jurgen Klopp's tenure.

Bertrand is playing for one of Bournemouth's main rivals in Southampton, and a funny video emerged when the ball slipped out of his hands whilst taking a throw-in, leading to him joking about time-wasting.

Bertrand did actually spend a brief spell on loan at Bournemouth from Chelsea as a 17-year-old, making five appearances for the Cherries whilst they were in League One.

The 31-year-old went on to have a host of loan spells at the likes of Oldham Athletic, Norwich City and Nottingham Forest, before moving to Southampton on a permanent basis in 2015.

He is now a contender for the left-back spot for England.

Continuing the trend of former Chelsea youngsters having a loan spell at Bournemouth before joining Southampton in the future is Jack Cork.

Cork spent time on loan at Bournemouth in 2006/07, making seven appearances for the club in all competitions.

He then had loan spells at the likes of Scunthorpe United, Watford, Coventry City and Burnley. In 2011, he joined Southampton, spending four years there before joining Swansea.

He now plays for Burnley on a permanent basis, and at the age of 31, he is another one to have gained first-team experience at Bournemouth.

Not many will remember Stech's one appearance for Bournemouth, and that is probably for the best.

The 31-year-old moved to West Ham United from Slavia Prague in 2006 as a youngster, and naturally went out on loan on a couple of occasions.

In December 2009, he was allowed to join Bournemouth on an emergency loan deal. It was a game to forget, though, as they lost 5-0 to Morecambe.

A week later, Stech was on the bench for West Ham against Chelsea despite letting in five goals against the Shrimps a week before.

He's now in League Two playing for Nigel Clough's Mansfield Town.

McGoldrick is currently a really key player for Sheffield United, despite it looking inevitable that they will be relegated from the Premier League this season.

The 33-year-old is still going strong, though, and has scored six goals in the top-flight this term.

In 2007, he had a brief loan spell at Bournemouth after failing to show his true quality at Notts County.

McGoldrick joined Bournemouth on loan in February 2007, scoring six goals in 12 games for the club and helping them survive relegation to League Two despite having problems with injury.

Henderson had a brief loan spell with the Cherries in 2013, joining on a temporary basis from West Ham.

He arrived on a three-month loan from West Ham as a replacement for the suspended Ryan Allsop and injured Darryl Flahavan.

But in only his second appearance for the Cherries, he dislocated his shoulder against Nottingham Forest, and subsequently returned to West Ham to receive treatment on his injury.

He made only two appearances for Bournemouth and is now at Crystal Palace, but is completely out of favour at Selhurst Park and is yet to make a first-team appearance.

Another Premier League goalkeeper, David Button, also had a loan spell at Bournemouth.

In 2009, he joined the club on a one-month loan from Tottenham Hotspur and made his debut in a 1-0 away defeat to Rotherham United.

After making four appearances in total, he returned to Spurs and went on to have loans at Luton, Dagenham, Shrewsbury and Crewe.

He is now at West Bromwich Albion and is back-up to first-choice shot-stopper Sam Johnstone at the Hawthorns.

He was previously at Brighton and Hove Albion, too.

Big things were expected of Iturbe when he joined Bournemouth on loan from Italian giants AS Roma in 2015/16.

But the exciting winger failed to make an impact at Bournemouth, making only four appearances with two of those coming in the Premier League.

He eventually returned to Roma at the end of the campaign, before going on to have spells with the likes of Torino and Tijuana.

He's now playing in Mexico for UNAM and is a regular for the Paraguay national team. He has bags of talent, but failed to adapt to life in English football and on the South Coast.

Former Charlton man Scott Wagstaff joined Bournemouth on loan from the Addicks in 2008.

The versatile wide-man made only five appearances for the Cherries, though, before going on to have spells at Northwich Victoria and Leyton Orient.

He was then a key player for the likes of Bristol City and AFC Wimbledon, but now plys his trade in League Two for Mark Cooper's Forest Green Rovers.

The 30-year-old's best days came with Charlton, though, spending five good years at the Valley. His loan spell at Bournemouth, though, was hardly memorable.
