Blackburn Rovers held Derby County to a 0-0 draw on Tuesday night, but the home side had almost four times as many shots on goal as Tony Mowbray's side.

Whilst it is a fine point for Rovers, they faced a relentless barrage of shots, albeit poor ones, in a relatively one-sided game. They showed clever management though and earned their fifth draw of the campaign to remain in the middle of the Championship table.

There will be few complaints from them on the night, but going forward they need to find goals, quickly. They've lost once in ten matches in all competitions and are seemingly only a clinical striker away from a promotion challenging side.

However, is that striker Adam Armstrong? He joined from Newcastle in the summer and FLW shine the spotlight on the 21-year-old.

Armstrong has plenty of competition in the Rovers side, with Ben Brereton unable to get a kick last night and Danny Graham waiting in the wings too.

He netted nine times in 21 league appearances last season, but this campaign has brought him just two strikes, both against Carlisle United in the League Cup. Last night was also a goalless evening for him.

He wasn't involved as much as he'd like, partially due to Derby's dominance, but he did manage to be caught offside on one occasion. He got hold of the ball twice for a successful dribble too, and played one accurate through ball.

He also managed to make a key pass, in addition to 11 further passes. His success rate was 73%, a decent rate for a striker.

Despite his side struggling for a foothold in the game, Armstrong did the right things, but simply didn't see enough of the ball to be effective. His side will create more chances at Ewood Park and he'll be hoping for more opportunities to show what he can do.
