Hull City star Jarrod Bowen is a target for Everton this summer, according to The Sun.

Bowen was a standout performer for Hull last year in his breakthrough season in the first-team.

Everton are looking to strengthen this summer with new manager Marco Silva at the helm and he could reunite with Bowen, who he previously worked with when he was Hull boss.

Previously in this window, the Toffees have been linked with Championship sensation Jack Grealish as they look to dip into the domestic market and snap up some of the best young players from the lower leagues.

But with Aston Villa slapping a £40m price tag on the 22-year-old, Everton are now considering Bowen as a cheaper option.

Everton will bid £12m for the 21-year-old, who scored 14 goals in the Championship last season compared to Grealish's tally of three strikes.

He also added one more goal in the FA Cup.

Bowen plays as a winger or as a central striker and Everton want to add him to their squad for next season as Silva looks to ship a number of fringe players to bring in other new additions.

The Verdict

Bowen is a player with a huge amount of potential and £12m could look like a steal if he is an Everton first-team player for several years.

Aged just 21, the skilful winger is a direct threat and knows where the goal is at Championship level - something he would be hoping to replicate if he makes a Premier League move.

Hull will be desperate to keep their academy product but for Everton this is a no-brainer - they should definitely swoop for Bowen, who will cost them nearly four times less than Grealish and he scored 11 more goals in the league (12 in all competitions).
