Famara Diedhou has had a promising first season with Bristol City.

The Robins' form has tailed off lately with three losses in five games which leaves them four points from the play-off spots with three games remaining.

It's been an exciting season for the fans with the run to the Carabao Cup semi-finals being a highlight due to the Premier League opposition they beat along the way including Manchester United. However, fans are likely to be disappointed by their failure to finish in the play-offs after spending the majority of the season in them positions.

The fans won't be disappointed with Diedhou's first season, though, after he was acquired from Angers in Ligue 1. He has 11 goals and one assist in 29 league appearances, which is good regardless, but even more impressive because this is his first season in the league.

His statistics also show the crucial role that he plays in the transition and attacking phases for Bristol City because he wins 1.2 fouls on average per game which helps progression up the pitch while also maintaining possession in key areas and turning it into a dangerous opportunity.

An average of 1 dribble per game and 1.9 average shots show his heavy involvement in their attacking play and this allows him to work well with the prolific Bobby Reid.

Cardiff could utilise his skillset well because they currently have Gary Madine and Kenneth Zohore to act as target men as well as having wide threats, but they don't have someone who is effective at linking up play in central areas while also being a credible goalscoring threat themselves. Diedhou can fill that role in the team which gives Neil Warnock more options to choose from.
