Neil Warnock will want to improve his side if they get promoted to the Premier League.

The Bluebirds are having a great season even if they are in a poor run of form currently which has seen them slip behind Fulham into third place. They will be favourites in the play-offs if they don't manage to finish in an automatic spot.

Warnock has done well to build up this team to where they are currently, but they will need more reinforcements to improve key areas if they get promoted. They don't currently have the necessary quality to stay up in the Premier League.

Here are three players who could join in the summer...

Kone is currently at Sunderland, but he is better than the Championship level he finds himself in and will be certain to leave if the Black Cats get relegated to League One.

He has experience playing in the Premier League and will bolster the back line. Sol Bamba and Sean Morrison have played well this season, but there are question marks over whether they could continue that into the Premier League. Therefore, Kone gives Warnock the certainty that he has a back-up who is capable at this level.

Adding solidity in defensive areas is likely to be Warnock's priority due to how he approaches games, so this move looks highly likely considering Sunderland's current struggles.

Bryson is currently on loan at Cardiff from Derby County, but a permanent move is likely. He has played well in central midfield with his box-to-box role key in ensuring there is balance between the attacking and defensive units due to Warnock's reactive style.

He has worked well in both a two-man and three-man midfield, so his flexibility is valuable because Warnock is likely to set his team up based on the opposition rather than trying to play a single style unanimously.

His final third contributions have been impressive as well with two goals and two assists in 1290 minutes. He only has a year left on his contract, so Derby are likely to cash in on him and it makes sense for Cardiff to buy him due to his role this season.

£11.7m-rated Rondon would be the ideal striker for Warnock because he is a big physical powerhouse while also having sublime technical ability. Even in a defensive set-up he can be clinical as he showed under Tony Pulis, so playing under Warnock wouldn't be much different for the Venezuelan striker.

He works hard for the team and is used to having few chances, so he could be a much better version of Gary Madine for Cardiff. With the talented wingers they have as well as the set piece ability, Cardiff have all the right weapons to work to Rondon's strengths and he could give them the X-factor they need in forward areas.

The 28-year-old would be invaluable to West Brom in the Championship, but they are likely to cash in on key players due to the drop down divisions. Therefore, Rondon is one of the top players likely to leave and Cardiff would be a great place for him to join.
