Tottenham are expected to have a busy transfer window as Mauricio Pochettino looks to build a squad that can compete both domestically and in Europe next season.

However, unlike many of their rivals, Spurs are fairly sensible when it comes to their spending and don't have unlimited funds.

Therefore, the Argentinian boss may look for some bargains in the Championship as he looks to beef up his options in various areas of the pitch.

Here we look at three EFL stars the North London club should make a move for in the coming weeks...

Spurs were surprisingly linked with a move for the Egyptian international earlier in the window and whilst not the most glamorous signing, he would provide reliable cover.

Available at a decent price following Albion's relegation, a good World Cup may convince Pochettino to make a move for the solid defender.

The Villa man is a target for Spurs who have offered £15m for the midfielder. That may not be enough to land the talented 22-year old but they will hope to do a deal.

He is exactly the sort of player Pochettino has improved over the years and he will hope to make Grealish a star. He has the ability to become one.

Another West Brom player could provide good cover at Spurs - £11.7m-rated ace Rondon. The powerful striker isn't good enough to play regularly for an elite club but he has the ability to cause problems as an impact sub or in certain games.

The reality is Spurs aren't going to get a striker better than Harry Kane and whoever joins knows they will be back-up but it's a role that would appeal to the Venezuelan.
