Samba Sow is a key reason as to why Nottingham Forest are still in the hunt for promotion to the Premier League under Sabri Lamouchi this season.
The arrival of the 30-year-old divided opinions amongst the Forest faithful in the summer, but the former Dinamo Moscow midfielder has quickly became one of Forest’s most important players this term.
Sow has made 19 appearances for Forest this term in a season that has been frustrating due to injury problems, with the Reds winning losing only one of those games he’s featured in.
Of course, it would be unfair to put all of them wins down to the presence of Sow, but there can be no denying that he plays a massive role in midfield and they miss him when he is absent.
Can you get full marks on this Forest quiz?
Forest’s recruitment plan in the summer saw Lamouchi target the foreign market, rather than look to sign proven talent. Tiago Silva, Brice Samba, Yuri Ribeiro and Sow have all become important players for Forest in their bid for promotion.
Is Sow head and shoulders above the rest in terms of the signing of the season accolade, though? That’s what’s being discussed by Forest fans on social media today…

Yep, both Samba Brice and Sow are great signings and we probably wouldn’t be where we are without them both, Cash has been like a new signing as well in his new role
