West Bromwich Albion supporters have been debating whether they would select Ben Foster ahead of Sam Johnstone in goal, if the Baggies had the choice between the pair.

Foster was one of the players to leave the Hawthorns following their relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2017/18 campaign, with the experienced keeper making the move to Watford, where he has established himself as the club's number one goalkeeper over the last season and a half.

The Baggies brought in Johnstone from Manchester United in the summer of 2018 to be the club's number one keeper in Fosters' absence, and the 26-year-old was a mainstay for West Brom last season as the club secured a 4th place finish in the Championship, before losing to Aston Villa in the semi-finals.

Can you name West Brom’s last 15 managers?

However, despite showing his shot stopping ability for the Baggies last season, there were some question marks over Johnstone's ability to command his penalty area, as West Brom's defence let them down at time last term, with the club conceding 62 goals in their 46 Championship matches which was the joint most of all the teams to finish in the top half of the table.

Slaven Bilic's side have been better defensively so far this campaign, and Johnstone has played a key role in helping the club suffer just a single defeat in their opening 22 Championship games, with some impressive individual performances of late helping the Baggies go on a 12-match unbeaten run heading into the weekend.

Here then, we take a look at what West Brom fans have been saying about who they would select in goal out of Foster and Johnstone...
