Plenty of Nottingham Forest fans have taken to social media to express their frustration at manager Sabri Lamouchi’s team selection for the game against Wigan Athletic yesterday.
The Reds missed the chance to go top of the Championship table, as their ten-match unbeaten league run came to an end at the DW Stadium – thanks to Jamal Lowe’s first Wigan goal, ten minutes before half-time.
Lamouchi, who replaced Martin O’Neill in charge at the City Ground in June, made five changes to his starting line-up from his side’s 1-0 win over Brentford before the international break – a decision which was questioned by many Forest fans before kick-off.
The Frenchman decided to drop several key players, including top scorer Lewis Grabban – a call which proved costly as Forest suffered from a lack of cutting edge and despite creating numerous chances, could only manage two shots on target.
Forest remain fourth in the Championship table, but are now three points behind league leaders West Bromwich Albion.
Plenty of Forest fans took to Twitter after the game to express their disappointment at the team’s performance and many fans were also frustrated with Lamouchi for making so many changes.
Some fans even accused the manager of trying to be too clever and insisted that he should have named his strongest side, as there are no easy games in the Championship.
Will Nottingham Forest win promotion this season?
Here is a look at some of the comments from Forest fans…
100% Lamouchi's fault today, ridiculous starting line up & formation, his arrogance & trying to be too clever lost us the game #NFFC

Start your strongest team, it's not rocket science.

Robinson Mir Bostock Figs should not have started that game. You can't make 5 changes in the championship and expect to win. Lesson learned hopefully Sabri on to Weds #nffc

The manager tried to be clever with team selection, just proves that the squad is still lacking in quality.

Manager got it woefully wrong with his team selection. Hopefully today has taught him you ALWAYS play your best team in this league. To be fair to him it’s the first thing he has got wrong so far this season.
