Derby County manager Frank Lampard will be working hard to get his players' feet firmly back on the ground, following their incredible 4-2 win at Elland Road on Wednesday night, a result that now books them a Championship play-off final place against Aston Villa at the end of the month.

One of the stars of the show for the Rams was striker Jack Marriott, who came off the bench on 44 minutes to replace the injured Duane Holmes, only to score Derby's opener on 45 minutes, before slotting home their fourth on 85 minutes to seal the tie.

So having made such an impact, must Marriott start from the off for Derby against Villa in the play-off final?

We discuss........

George Dagless

"It's actually tough to say.

"He'd deserve to after what he did against Leeds but was he like that because he was riled about not starting?

"He's a big game player which goes for him but maybe he'd be better off of the bench as an impact again? Tough call for Lampard."

Louie Chandler

"100%

"I was shocked he did not start on Wednesday night and his performance after he came on justified that shock.

"Villa's defence has been solid as of late but it would be interesting to see how they deal with a presence like Marriott's."

Gary Hutchinson

“Of course, he should have started much more often.

“Jack Marriott scores goals. He sniffs them out, he finds the right place to be at the right time.

“He’s like Gary Lineker in that respect, but like the great England striker he isn’t always effective outside the box.

“Find a way to work around that and you have 25 goals a season.”
