The Elland Road faithful will still be coming to terms with the prospect of another season in the Championship having been a front-runner in the promotion race all season, only to fall-away at a crucial time and ultimately to get knocked out by Derby County in their play-off semi-final.

With failure to gain promotion this season bound to have a massive impact on the current playing squad, spare a thought for those on the sidelines who have missed out because of long-term injury.

Whites midfielder Eunan O'Kane was set for a loan-spell at Luton Town, before a broken leg cut that short after only three matches and brought his season to an abrupt end.

So, what next for O'Kane? Will he be axed by Leeds this summer?

We discuss..........

George Dagless

"I think so.

"It's a shame how it's gone for O'Kane but we can't forget that really he was surplus to requirements before the injury and was off to Luton.

"He has something to offer the right club, though."

George Brooks

"It wouldn’t surprise me.

"O’Kane has been an important player for Leeds over the past few seasons.

"He can still be very good player at Championship level and has been very unfortunate to suffer an injury on loan at Luton.

"He could still have a future at Leeds, but it is difficult to see him forcing his way back into the starting XI straight away, so perhaps he may favour a move away from Elland Road to experience regular first-team football."

Gary Hutchinson

“100%, he'll be sold.

“He was surplus to requirements before the injury and he won’t have forced his way into Bielsa’s reckoning from the treatment table.

“His Leeds time was up a year ago, but it’s taken that long for him to get fit again.

“He’s gone when the chance arises.”
