Nottingham Forest were knocked out of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon after losing 2-0 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Sabri Lamouchi made a host of changes to the side that beat Blackburn a week before the trip to Stamford Bridge, with plenty of fringe players given their chance to impress.

The likes of Albert Adomah, Carl Jenkinson and Ryan Yates were all given invaluable game time, but they were unable to help Forest pull off a cup upset.

Two youngsters were also given their chance to shine against the Premier League giants, with Brennan Johnson and Alex Mighten starting from the off.

In the end, goals from Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ross Barkley secured a 2-0 victory for Chelsea, but Mighten could have helped Forest level the scores after the former's goal on another day.

The young winger produced a fine performance against the Blues and won Forest a penalty, which was controversially overruled and overturned by VAR.

Nevertheless, it was undoubtedly a day to be proud of for Mighten, and here, we take a look at his performance in greater detail...

Mighten was arguably Forest's bright spark on Sunday afternoon - the young winger looked fearless and bright in what was only his second appearance for the Reds.

The attacker started high up on the right flank, and his role was to cause the likes of Fikayo Tomori and Emerson some serious problems down the right-hand side.

Cause Tomori problems is exactly what he did - after latching onto a through ball, Mighten drve into the box and was taken down by the former Derby loanee.

A penalty was awarded, but the decision was overturned due to Mighten's arm being fractionally offside, causing anger from the Forest camp.

As perhaps expected, Forest lost out to Frank Lampard's side in the possession battle, therefore Mighten didn't exactly see too much of the ball throughout the full 96 minutes.

But when he did get the ball, Mighten was highly effective, accruing a dribble success rate of 100% from four dribbles.

He was a constant threat, and was on the end of five fouls which gave Forest a number of opportunities to pump balls into the box from free-kicks.

The physical side of the game is what Mighten will have to adjust to having won only 11 out of 30 duels on Sunday afternoon, with the youngster having two touches inside the box and only making three passes.

But he showed real glimpses of true quality at the weekend, and under Lamouchi, he will be hoping to continue impressing and play even more games.
