Bristol City confirmed yesterday that Andreas Weimann had signed a new three-year deal with the club, keeping him at Ashton Gate until at least 2024. 

Robins supporters will be hoping that is the first of many positive moves this summer as Nigel Pearson looks to rebuild the squad.

The City boss has revealed that he’s hoping to add five new players this summer as he looks to replenish his squad after seeing a significant chunk of it released at the end of their contracts.

Given the current national and global circumstances, money is likely to be tight and the Robins may well have to be creative.

The South West club have made use of the loan market in the past and it would be a surprise not to see them do the same this summer.
