Bristol Rovers will be looking to rebuild in Sky Bet League Two under Joey Barton after being relegated last season. 

The Gas will be seeking to bounce back straight away after their late season heartbreak and will be looking to gander a squad that is capable of competing for a top seven place.

Beckford enjoyed a prolific career which saw him take in his best spell with Leeds United as starred for the Whites in Sky Bet League One.

A pacey frontman who was capable of coming up with spectacular strikes as well as getting in behind opposition defences, the striker netted eight goals in seven games against the Gas and was a regular thorn in their side over the years.

After getting his big move to Everton, the 37-year-old went on to see out his career back in the Football League and now works as a pundit for various football based outlets.

Davies is a player who has made a career out of being a journeyman striker, with his most profitable spells coming with the likes of Barnsley, Oldham Athletic and Chesterfield Town.

In 10 games against Bristol Rovers, the big frontman netted six goals, underlining his ability to come up with the goods when required.

Since reaching his mid-30s, Davies has headed back down into the lower reaches of the Football League and most recently plied his trade for Mansfield Town in League Two.

Now a free agent, he is now looking for his next challenge in what has been a long and seasoned career.

The outgoing Sunderland striker has just announced that he will not be renewing his contract with the Black Cats and as a result there will now be a big scramble to secure his signature.

The former Charlton Athletic man hit double figures as part of a front three alongside Malik Wilks and Keane Lewis-Potter and will once again be looking to make an impact for the East Riding of Yorkshire outfit in the league above.

With a record of five goals in six games against the Gas, he is amongst one of their most feared opponents and many will be glad that they won't be crossing swords for at least a few years.

Glenn Murray is a name that will be familiar to fans of both the Sky Bet Championship and the Premier League due to his magnificent career of scoring goals at various levels of the game.

The veteran enjoyed his best spells with the likes of Crystal Palace and Brighton and Hove Albion and is now looking for a new opportunity after hanging up his boots.

He spent time with Nottingham Forest last term and still managed to contribute for the Reds before leaving the club this summer.

In all he scored five goals in eight games against the Gas over the years.

Still going strong at the age of 36, Henderson will be gunning for promotion with Salford City next season after lifting the Papa John's Trophy in the campaign just gone for the League Two side.

The target man has been around the block for plenty of clubs in the Football League and enjoyed his best spells for the likes of Rochdale and Colchester United before joining the Ammies last summer.

A veteran of the EFL, Henderson has found the back of the net on five occasions in 13 games against the Gas during his long and successful career and will be looking to add to his tally moving forwards.

Revell hung his boots up last summer after bringing his successful career to an end and there is no doubt that plenty of Football League defences will have breathed a collective sigh of relief after the news was revealed.

His best career spell certainly came with Rotherham United, with the main highlight being his scorching half volley at Wembley Stadium which helped the Millers to claim promotion to the Sky Bet Championship.

In all the 37-year-old faced the Gas on 12 occasions and scored five goals, which underlined just how much of a threat the powerful frontman really was back in his heyday.

Hurst played pretty much of all of his career at Football League level and largely made a career out of scoring goals everywhere he went.

The striker took in notable spells with the likes of Barnsley, Swansea City, Mansfield Town, Stockport County, Chesterfield, Notts County, Shrewsbury Town and Bury before then moving into the non league circuit with the likes of FC United of Manchester, Hyde and Gainsborough Trinity.

He went on to score five goals in five games against Bristol Rovers over the years and will be a man that they will no doubt be glad to see the back of now that he has retired.

Rickie Lambert is a man who needs no introduction to fans of the Gas after scoring 58 goals in 147 games in blue and white and will be fondly remembered for his exploits with the club prior to his departure.

As well as scoring for his former club, Lambert also scored against the club that he used to call home, with his record standing at five goals in eight games against Rovers.

After leaving for pastures new, the big target man went on to take in spells with Southampton, Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion, whilst also being capped at international level by England.

A larger than life character in more ways than one, Akinfenwa is widely regarded to be the world's strongest footballer and has made a career out of using his strength and size to his advantage on the field of play.

Capable of winning aerial duels against most centre backs, 'Bayo' is capable of holding up the ball and bringing others into play whilst getting on the end of crosses in the final third.

He has enjoyed his best spells with the likes of Northampton Town, AFC Wimbledon and Wycombe Wanderers and will be looking to add to his career tally next season in League One.
