It’s been a tough season for Sheffield Wednesday and they have certainly missed some serious spark for much of it – hence their top six chances are gone.
Despite initial optimism from the Owls at the start of the season that it’d be third time lucky in terms of promotion things quickly came to a halt and they’ve never really been able to go on a run.
New manager Jos Luhukay has improved things defensively – bar last weekend – but next season the Owls need to add some fresh ideas up top because things look to have gone stale with the players they have, somehow.
That brings us to our latest FLW Spotlight, then, which looks at the superb Otis Khan who’s ripping it up in League Two for Yeovil Town:
He’s a midfielder, but he’s got the numbers of a striker in terms of goals and assists – this coming, too, for a side that is set for a mid-table finish at best in the fourth tier and is still concerned by a relegation battle.
He’s not just a tricky attacker, though, he’s got all the attributes you need to be a top player. He’s hard-working and tenacious in the middle third of the pitch and though that sometimes gets him into trouble, he’s certainly proving a force for the Glovers.
Naturally, then, people are going to start thinking he needs to make the step up and with Wednesday needing a big shake up to get them out of this season’s stupor, Khan could be a great risk worth taking.
