After a remarkable second half of the previous campaign, Millwall will approach the new Championship with hope and optimism.

Club legend Neil Harris has done a superb job with the Lions, building a very good side on a minimal budget.

And, they almost caused a major shock when they challenged for the play-offs last season. Ultimately, it wasn't to be but the fans will be right behind the team as they gear up for another big season.

However, they couldn't have asked for a much tougher start, with one of the promotion favourites Middlesbrough heading to The Den for the opener.

It will be a real test for the London outfit and provides them with a chance to show they can once again compete with anyone in the league.

Here we look at the XI they are likely to line up with tomorrow...

Ben Amos has arrived to provide good competition for Archer, who struggled at times last season, however Harris is a loyal manager and should give the Scotland international the shirt to start with.

Romeo was outstanding towards the latter part of the season, impressing with his pace, energy and drive to get forward, so he should get the nod.

Hutchinson was superb last season as well, forming half of what was a very effective defensive partnership in the previous campaign.

The other half is Cooper, who had been linked with Rangers. He's stayed for now though and will be an easy pick for Harris.

Similarly, the former Bradford man is sure to start at left-back.

Arguably Millwall's best player, the former Wolves man will be a key creative outlet for the Lions.

The Irish midfielder has a bit of quality on the ball and will look to set the tempo.

Saville has been a magnificent signing since joining and will be an important player again this season.

Harris may be tempted to start with new signing Jiri Skalak, however he only joined yesterday so O'Brien should get the nod, but the former Brighton man will be an impact sub.

The front two pick themselves at the Den and Gregory, who hit ten goals last season, is a great, hardworking option for the team.

His partner will be veteran Morison who has shown he still has a lot to offer at this level.
