Barnsley will surely be looking to add before the end of the window as they aim to haul themselves up the Championship standings.

The men from Oakwell have got a good squad of decent players but perhaps need that little bit extra to start getting towards the higher positions in the league.

Certainly, seeing the likes of Harvey Barnes go back to Leicester hasn't helped matters but Paul Heckingbottom will still believe in his squad and feel that he can do some good business in the remaining days of the window.

Here at Football League World, then, we've been thinking about what the Tykes need to do before the market closes in under a fortnight and so, with that in mind, here's what we've come up with...

In: Alex Gersbach

The Rosenborg left-back has got Europa League experience and could be the ideal man to compete for that role in the Tykes' side.

The Yorkshire Evening Post has said that the club is monitoring him at the moment and he could fancy a move to England.

He could be going to the World Cup with Australia, though, so he'll want guaranteed game time.

Out: Dylan Mottley-Henry

Mottley-Henry is another exciting young player that Barnsley have got on their books at the moment.

The young winger has recently signed a new deal with the club, too, and so his long-term future seems secure.

In the meantime, though, he needs to be getting minutes and so a loan deal - as he had with Tranmere Rovers - could be the sort of thing that needs to be sealed.
