Sheffield Wednesday secured a vital win against Yorkshire rivals Leeds thanks to a rare double from big striker Atdhe Nuhiu.

The Owls went to Elland Road with just one win in 11 games and were nervously looking over their shoulder at the relegation zone.

However, the late victory at Leeds should be enough to ensure Jos Luhukay’s men enjoy a more comfortable end to the season.

As mentioned, the key man on Saturday was Nuhiu who struck twice, including the stoppage time winner.

It rounded off what was an excellent performance from the target man, who dominated the Whites defence from the first whistle, highlighted by the ten aerial duels he won.

Whilst you would expect that from Nuhiu, he was much more of a goal threat than he has been in previous weeks.

Not only did he score twice, but he managed to get five shots off which again demonstrates how the Whites defence couldn’t really handle him.

The Kosovo international is out of contract in the summer and will be desperate to extend his stay at Hillsborough but will need to maintain the high standard he set on Saturday.

Luhukay is surely going to oversee a major overhaul to his squad in the summer but Nuhiu is certainly giving him a decision to make.
