Swansea City are well stocked in wide areas this season, with manager Steve Cooper having called on the services of Nathan Dyer, Bersant Celina, Wayne Routledge, Kristoffer Peterson, Jordan Garrick and Aldo Kalulu this term.

However, this hasn't stopped the Swans from eyeing up a move for former Glasgow Rangers winger Owen McGinty, with The Scottish Sun reporting that the south Wales outfit are one of a host of interested clubs that have tabs pinned on the youngster.

The former Ayr United youth player caught the collective attention of the powers that be at Ibrox after scoring 12 goals in five games against Celtic's youth sides.

Given the talent possessed by the youngster, it is perhaps unsurprising that he is attracting potential suitors from clubs south of the border.

Here we pick out ONE winner and ONE loser of Swansea sealing a deal for Owen McGinty in the coming months....

Winner

Nathan Dyer

The addition of McGinty would provide Dyer with some much-needed competition for the role of right-winger, with the experienced Swansea stalwart having had a free run at the starting berth since Jordan Garrick was ruled out through injury.

The increased competition would encourage Dyer to improve his performance levels, whilst also providing Cooper with a strong backup option for the role, should Dyer experience burnout or injury from playing a part in a large number of games this term.

Loser

Jordan Garrick

One player who would certainly be a loser of any deal being agreed for the former Rangers winger is Jordan Garrick who, of course, as previously mentioned in the article, is sidelined with a hamstring injury at the time of writing, meaning that McGinty's potential arrival could be another cause for concern for the 21-year-old.

The winger has only just really broken into the first team at the beginning of the campaign and with his progress having been curtailed by injury and the potential arrival of McGinty being talked up, the Swansea academy graduate will surely be worried about what the future holds for his career at the Liberty Stadium.
