Charlton have tabled another offer for Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty as they look to take him out on loan for the rest of the campaign.

It would be a much-needed acquisition for the Addicks as they have been using a squad that has been massively depleted throughout the season due to a number of injuries.

Now, they have to make sure that they improve their squad otherwise risk heading towards a dangerously close relegation battle.

Who is this ex Charlton player?

Winner – Lee Bowyer

This would be a massive signing for the manager as it would finally get in another midfielder. With Conor Gallagher having been recalled by Chelsea last week, it has been a really difficult time and injuries have somewhat scuppered what could have been a very good season.

It’s still an achievement if they stay up, and bringing in Docherty will be another much-needed body into the squad. Bowyer could name just six substitutes for the game with Preston, and has vented his anger on many occasions – this would be a step closer to making the boss happier.

Loser – Albie Morgan

The youngster has been very lively and bright since coming into the Charlton side, however, he’s not quite up to the level of Championship football yet and this signing would probably see him lose his place in the starting XI and even the squad.

It would be disappointing for him, as Bowyer would be unlikely to let him out on loan just in case an injury crisis happened again. He needs to be playing at this age, so this signing could halt the youngster’s development – although he should be very proud of his involvement this season.
