One player who has perhaps not received the plaudits he has deserved during his time at Brentford is right-back Henrik Dalsgaard.

The 30-year-old made the move to Griffin Park back in the summer of 2017 and has been a picture of consistency ever since, racking up 92 appearances and has also played every minute of the current campaign as well.

On Monday, Frank admitted that he would like to see the Dane sign a new deal with the club as well with his current one set to expire in the summer.

Here, we take a look at ONE winner and ONE loser from this potential scenario...

Winner: Bryan Mbeumo

Dalsgaard has been excellent at right-back for Brentford and one of the big beneficiaries of that form has been the man tasked with running the right-wing.

Mbeumo only made the move to West London in the summer but has settled impressively at Griffin Park, netting four goals and providing four assists in 14 appearances, and a large part of that will be down to the presence of Dalsgaard.

The Danish defender has been a picture of solidity, relieving Mbeumo of pressure to track back as much as he may have had to with other right-backs.

So he will undoubtedly be eager to see his teammate commit his future to the club.

Loser: Josh Clarke

There is little doubt that Clarke would be the biggest loser from Dalsgaard comitting his future to the club.

Having been sent out on loan to Burton Albion for the second half of last season, Clarke will have harboured hopes of breaking into the Brentford first team this time around, but that has not been the case.

So far he has made just one first-team appearance, a last minute cameo in the 0-0 draw with Stoke City, and there appears to be little chance of him getting into the side ahead of Dalsgaard.

His teammate signing a new deal could spell the end of Clarke's Brentford career.
