Sheffield Wednesday have gone from having a shocking season to a decent one after two wins on the trot this week kicked them into gear.

A 2-1 win against Millwall in midweek was followed up by beating Ipswich Town 2-1 at Hillsborough to take Jos Luhukay's side up to seven points for the season.

Two goals from Lucas Joao sandwiched Toto Nsiala's equaliser for the Tractor Boys.

The Ipswich centre-back also received a straight red card 15 minutes from time to make a difficult task all the more harder and Joao scored the winner just two minutes later to kill the game off.

The loss condemns Paul Hurst's side to yet another defeat and leaves them rock bottom of the table on just two points.

But who was the big winner and who was the big loser from Saturday's match?

There is very little debate to be had over the big winner of this match, with Joao bagging twice to fire the Owls to victory.

The performance came just days after the Portuguese had signed a new contract at the club to give them a much-needed boost.

And he celebrated that new deal in style with two scrappy, striker's goals first tapping home his own rebounded shot before heading in at the back post.

It may be starting to dawn on Ipswich fans that Mick McCarthy may not have been doing that bad a job, which makes current manager Paul Hurst the big loser of the day.

He has tried his best to reshape the squad in his image with signings from League One, but it does not seem to be working thus far.

He now has a tricky job on his hands to get this team performing.
