Cardiff City are believed to be one of a host of Championship clubs interested in securing the services of versatile Wigan forward Josh Windass, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Bluebirds have been keeping tabs on the 26-year-old.

The former Glasgow Rangers playmaker would in theory add a wealth of creativity to proceedings for the Welsh club if he was to complete a move to the Cardiff City Stadium this month.

It has been well documented in recent weeks that Neil Harris is seeking to add to his existing squad as the ex-Millwall boss seeks to reaffirm his side's play-off aspirations after a largely inconsistent start to the campaign.

Windass would no doubt fit the bill for this, with the 26-year-old having notched four goals in his opening 15 Championship games, he could provide the difference for Cardiff in games that are well contested.

Here, we take a look at ONE winner and ONE loser of Cardiff City sealing a deal for Josh Windass this month....

Winner

Robert Glatzel

The German striker would certainly benefit from Windass arriving in south Wales as it would in theory provide him with the type of service from central areas that would allow him to add to his disappointing tally of four goals in 18 Championship games.

Glatzel's season hasn't really got going since arriving from Germany this summer and perhaps Windass could be the one to unlock the 26-year-old's potential in the coming months.

Loser

Lee Tomlin

The experienced attacking midfielder has so far been untouchable in Cardiff's starting eleven so far this season, after putting in a series of impressive showings that have yielded a total of five goals and six assists.

However the potential arrival of Windass could well put paid to the 31-year-old's hopes of maintaining his starting spot under Harris, with the increased competition for places sure to catch up with Tomlin at some point in the next few months.
