Wigan Athletic attacking midfielder Josh Windass is said to be a target for Bristol City boss Lee Johnson, with the Daily Mail recently reporting that the Robins are one of a host of clubs that are interested in securing the services of the versatile 26-year-old.

Windass has displayed mixed form for the Latics this term, with his contribution of four goals in 15 Championship outings so far failing to lift the relegation-threatened side out of the drop zone.

His bright performances have unsurprisingly gone unnoticed amongst several of Wigan's league rivals and as a result a January move for the former Glasgow Rangers man could well be on the cards if one of the potential suitors stumps up the cash required to meet Wigan's demands.

Johnson is seemingly in the market for a player who can add that extra edge in the final third and Windass would certainly fit the bill for the Robins.

Here, we take a look at ONE winner and ONE loser of Bristol City sealing a deal for Josh Windass this month....

Winner

Famara Diedhiou

The towering Ivorian centre forward would certainly be one of the main beneficiaries of the potential arrival of Windass at Ashton Gate, as it would in theory provide the striker with far more service than he has been receiving this term.

With Windass offering creativity from more central areas of the field, Diedhiou will no longer have to simply rely on crosses from out wide to provide him with scoring opportunites.

Loser

Kasey Palmer

The former Chelsea midfielder would surely be the loser of any deal being agreed for Windass as it would only go towards increasing the already high competition for places in the team's attacking midfield areas, thus affecting Palmer's chances of nailing down a regular starting spot.

Palmer has already been continually linked with a loan move away from Ashton Gate, and this may be something the 23-year-old may want to consider if the club do indeed bring in Windass this month.
