Reading made it two games unbeaten after an impressive 1-1 draw away to Aston Villa followed Wednesday night's 2-2 draw at Blackburn Rovers.

Sam Baldock's 93rd-minute penalty secured a valuable point for Paul Clements side after Ahmed Elmohamady had given the home side the advantage.

The Egyptian fullback headed home Villa new boy Anwar El Ghazi's cross in the 51st minute and it looked like it would be enough for them to claim all three points.

But in the 92nd minute, Josh Sims drew a needless foul from James Chester in the Aston Villa box and Sam Baldock held his nerve from the spot to bag his first goal for the club and Reading's second point of the new season.

It made it three draws on the bounce for the hosts who will view this as two points dropped.

But who was the one big winner from Saturday's showdown and who was a loser?

Orjan Nyland has received a fair bit of stick from Aston Villa fans following his early performances for the club which were littered with clangers and basic errors.

But he showed on Saturday why Steve Bruce has been persisting in with the Norwegian between the sticks and he was the person keeping Villa in a winning position for most of the second half.

A stunning save to deny Baldock and string of impressive stops looked like they would be enough for the three points until the penalty was awarded.

Oh, James Chester, what were you thinking?

In the 92nd minute, the Aston Villa captain was shepherding Josh Sims away from the Villa goal when he suddenly lunged in to try and win possession back.

In doing so he took out Sims before the ball and a penalty was awarded to the away side which they duly dispatched.

It was a rare and stupid lapse in judgement from a usually very smart and calculated defender.
