1 tackle, 1 interception: Nottingham Forest’s tepid Hull showing summed up by star’s stats

Nottingham Forest’s current struggles continued at the weekend as the Reds lost to Hull City in the Championship at the City Ground.

The men from the East Midlands have had a tough year this year and their form since the start of 2018 really has been underwhelming.

Indeed, losing to a lowly Hull City side certainly won’t have inspired confidence and a few players really need to raise it in the coming weeks to avoid getting into trouble.

With that said, then, one such man is the latest subject of our FLW Spotlight feature with his below-par showing summing up Forest’s weekend – Ben Osborn:

Osborn has the potential to be a great player for Forest but he needs to find some more consistency before that can happen.

When he’s good, he can really influence games but when he’s off the boil matches tend to pass him by and that was the case for him at the weekend.

He wasn’t the sole perpetrator, of course, but just one tackle and one interception from him, as well as very few passes, highlighted how he was on the periphery in the midfield battle.

Forest aren’t in immediate danger of relegation at the moment but they certainly need to arrest their slide before it does become and issue and players like Osborn – with their talent – need to ensure they have an impact.
