1 shot, 3 dribbles: Monk needs to help this Birmingham City ace rediscover his best

Garry Monk’s spell with Birmingham City didn’t get off to the best start, with the Blues suffering a defeat last night to play-off hopefuls, Middlesbrough.

Patrick Bamford’s goal settled a tight contest at St Andrew’s, with Monk’s new side finishing Tuesday evening still in 22nd, two points adrift of Barnsley and safety in the Sky Bet Championship table.

Birmingham find themselves on the back of a six-match winless streak, with a talented squad facing the real possibility of relegation if they don’t start finding some form over the next 10 fixtures.

Part of that talented squad at St Andrew’s is Jota, who was perhaps Birmingham’s most high-profile addition during the summer transfer window.

Here at FLW, we put the spotlight on Jota, taking a look at his contribution last night against Middlesbrough:

The 26-year-old completed 90 minutes for Birmingham, but the forward managed just one shot on goal over the course of the game.

It was a quiet evening for the former Brentford favourite, who also only completed three dribbles and 40 passes, which came at a success rate of 75%.

Jota’s limited attacking display is perhaps reflected in the fact the forward had to make four clearances against Boro.

Birmingham fans… How desperately do you need Jota to find his best form? Let us know your thoughts!
