Leeds United's goalkeeping situation has hit a massive kink in the road of the late, with both Jamal Blackman and Bailey Peacock-Farrell falling to injury.

Chelsea loanee Blackman has returned to his parent club, while young number one Peacock-Farrell has also picked up an injury, leading to the expected debut of young stopper Will Huffer today.

However, Leeds are thought to be exploring the possibilty of signing a stopper on an emergency loan deal, and one man who has been mentioned is West Brom 'keeper Jonathan Bond.

The former Watford and Reading man has failed to get a game so far for the Baggies, and he might well be keen to explore a short move to Elland Road in the hope of getting a few games under his belt during the busy winter period of the season.

Bond would certainly provide some stability and food for thought for Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa, and it could turn out to be a wise move to make such a signing.

With that in mind, and concious of potential downsides to the deal, we at FLW have taken a look at ONE positive and ONE negative to Leeds' pursuit of Bond...

Positive - He brings experience and known quality to the table

Bond has joined the Royals

Bond has been around the block somewhat for someone who is only 25-years-old, and he has bags of experience under his belt already.

Spells with Reading, Watford, and a successful time on loan with Peterborough have all helped him improve over the years, and there is little doubt he could fill the void at Elland Road.

With only Will Huffer currently fit, Bond could be just the ticket for Leeds at this moment in time.

Negative - It halts the progress of Leeds' young guns

There is a risk with the signing of Bond that it could well be a bit of a kick in the teeth to young Huffer, as well as number one Peacock-Farrell on his return.

Marcelo Bielsa has already admitted that Jamal Blackman was set to play ahead of Peacock-Farrell before injury struck, and if Bond was to do well, it could well tempt Bielsa into looking at making Bond's deal a more permanent one.

While he does bring stability and experience, it's important for Leeds to nurture young talent too, and this move could set that talent back a bit.
