Sheffield Wednesday took a vital point last night as they frustrated rivals Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

The Owls put in a resolute defensive display to put last week's 4-0 hammering at the hands of Norwich behind them, and manager Jos Luhukay will be hoping to use this as a platform to see his team move forward and pick up some form in the coming months.

The result was much needed for the blue half of Sheffield, who have struggled for any sort of form and consistency this term.

However, the result was a big plus for the Owls, although there will be many out there arguing that the performance was not what the club's fans will want to see on too many occasions during the rest of the campaign.

With that in mind, we at FLW took a look at ONE positive and ONE negative that Jos Luhukay can take from last night's 0-0 draw at Bramall Lane...

Positive - Defensive issues solved?

The Owls had conceded 12 goals in their last four games heading into last night's fixture, and a clean sheet was vital for the confidence of both the team and the fans.

Tom Lees, Jordan Thorniley, and Michael Hector were resolute in their shape as a back three, and Luhukay will be keen to build on this defensive platform going forward.

If the Owls are to have success, more clean sheets will be key, and this back three could be something to really work with.

Negative - Attacking problems highlighted

Despite the defensive display which had lots to be admired, there was a glaring issue with the style of play that Luhukay chose to employ at Bramall Lane.

Steven Fletcher was very much isolated up top alone, while Adam Reach was almost anonymous as he was tasked with supporting Fletcher.

Keeping clean sheets is all well and good, but if the Owls want to avoid being sucked into a relegation battle, it's imperative that Luhukay finds a way for his team to find the back of the net as well keeping them out.
