Sheffield United welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Bramall Lane this evening, with the hosts entering the game on the back of a remarkable 4-2 victory in the Steel City Derby.

Victory at Hillsborough over fierce rivals Sheffield Wednesday will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the greatest wins in the club’s history, and fans will still be dancing in jubilation over the result.

However, the squad and manager Chris Wilder must now turn their attentions back to the league, and the visit of high-flying Wolves will be no easy task for the Blades to overcome.

Victory for the visitors could see them rise to the top of the table, and Nuno Santo’s men will come to south Yorkshire with the intention of returning to the West Midlands with three points.

A result for the hosts though could see them leapfrog their opponents into second place, which would mark the club’s highest league position since their relegation from the Premier League in 2007.

Wilder is likely to stick with a very similar side to the one that defeated the Owls, and this is how he could start the match this evening…

Jamal Blackman will certainly continue in goal, with the young Chelsea loanee impressing since arriving at the club on a season-long deal this summer.

A back three is likely to be in operation to counter Wolves’ vast attacking threat, with Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jack O’Connell and Jake Wright likely to line up in the middle of defence.

Enda Stevens and George Baldock will continue on the flanks, with a midfield three of John Fleck, Paul Coutts and Chris Basham controlling things from the middle of the park.

Scot Fleck was rewarded with a new deal this week following a fine spell of form, and will look to add to the goal he scored at Hillsborough on Sunday afternoon.

£1 million rated Billy Sharp could come back in for David Brooks, with the youngster possibly in need of a rest following his excellent display at Wednesday, with two goal man Leon Clarke certain to retain his place in the side following a solid performance of his own.

Wolves’ back-line are big and strong, so the physical presence of Clarke could make all the difference this evening.

The game at Bramall Lane has the potential to be classic, with both sides able to find the net.

The Blades will play on the counter as they did at Hillsborough, and Wolves must be wary of the threat their hosts pose when hitting their opponents on the break.
