Birmingham City extended their unbeaten run to nine games with an impressive 1-0 victory over Stoke City and former manager Gary Rowett.

More importantly for Blues, it means they have recorded back-to-back victories for the first time this season and they're now just four points from the play-offs and seven above the bottom three.

The problem for Garry Monk's men has been finding that clinical edge in front of goal. The side are hard to beat but don't always finish sides off.

However, that wasn't the case on Saturday, with Che Adams making a decisive contribution - as our graphic shows.

The former Sheffield United man scored the all-important goal, finishing sharply late on to seal the points for Blues, but he also put in a big performance on the day in terms of his overall game.

Adams made one key pass and was generally good in possession, which is important for a player in the final third.

As well as that, he won three aerial duels, highlighting how he made it hard for the Stoke defenders all afternoon.

That work-rate was an impressive feature of his game and it had to be with the Potters dominating possession.

Yet, Adams and Lukas Jutikiewicz did the defending from the front to ensure that despite controlling the ball, Stoke found it very difficult to break Blues down and ultimately had few clear chances.

However, the best part of the game for the 22-year-old was his late finish which took him to four goals for the season.

For someone with his ability that isn't enough but the signs are promising and if he can replicate his performance from Saturday in the future, he could be the man that helps Birmingham regularly turn those draws into wins.
