In the last couple of days, the January transfer window rumour mill is beginning to swirl as clubs aim to make their final captures and offload some to try and shape their squads for the final few months of the campaign.

The same will be happening in north Bristol as Bristol Rovers will be trying to get their playoff push back on track, and manager Ben Garner will be hoping that he can continue to shape his squad after taking over last month.

Here, we take a look at one in and one out that could still happen at The Memorial Stadium between now and tomorrow's transfer deadline...

In - Brandon Haunstrup

The Portsmouth left-back has mainly played a bit-part role at Fratton Park this season, covering for Lee Brown before Steve Seddon signed for the south-coast club earlier this month.

Garner is trying to strengthen his options at left-back with Luke Leahy, Tareiq Holmes-Dennis and Michael Kelly all capable of playing there, but Haunstrup would add a bit more defensive stability to the left flank if he was to make the move to a rival league club.

The 23-year-old has made 31 League One appearances across his career, and he has become a player that Kenny Jackett has put his trust in when it comes to developing him on the training ground and then throwing him into a game scenario.

Pompey manager Jackett has responded to rumours surrounding Haunstrup's future, stating that there is no chance he will be leaving Fratton Park, however, Bristol Rovers may be able to tempt the defender into the move if they put their money where their mouth is.

Out - Jonson Clarke-Harris

The 25-year-old striker has been in good form since joining Rovers almost a year ago, having netted 13 goals in 28 appearances this campaign as well as 11 in 17 last season.

Championship side Charlton Athletic are thought to have put a bid in for the striker as they try to bring him to The Valley, while Sheffield Wednesday, Middlesbrough and Cardiff City also hold an interest in the former Coventry City man.

The striker has bravely led Rovers' front-line across the past year as he has become their talisman, and Garner will be hoping that the striker chooses to remain in Bristol instead of taking up the opportunity to play Championship football again.

The forward looks likely to be a Charlton player come Saturday if they are able to persuade the striker that his future lies in London, but Bristol Rovers will fight for one of their key men to remain where he is.
