It's been a good season for Aston Villa so far with them certainly in the race for the top six and not out of the automatic promotion spots chase either.

The men from Villa Park might have been worried at the start of this campaign that they were going to endure another tough season but that seems a distant memory now. Top of the form table, Villa have looked strong in recent weeks and, though their game against Wolves was poor, they've still got plenty to shout about.

Certainly, then, they'll be looking to keep that up against Fulham and then onwards for the coming months before January rolls around and presents a chance a strengthen. We've been thinking about that here at Football League World, then, but we actually think some exits are in order, too, starting with this pair...

Birkir Bjarnason

Rated at £1.8m by transfermarkt, the Icelandic international really hasn't been taken to by the Villa faithful and there's probably few who can say they'll miss him if he goes.

A decent player that works hard, he just doesn't seem good enough to cut it for the Villans and certainly won't be if and when they return to the Premier League. Bruce should try and cash in what he can, then, and perhaps reinvest in a better option.

Micah Richards

Yes, he's still at Villa.

It seems ages ago that Richards was once the next big hope for English football and defending, as has been the downward spiral his career has been on for some time. He's not looking likely to get into the Villa side anytime soon, either, and he should be looking to move on if he wants anything to show for the remaining years in his career. Even a loan away would be a start.
