Aston Villa’s push for promotion in the Sky Bet Championship continues to gather pace, with Steve Bruce’s side seemingly going from strength-to-strength.

Over the weekend, Villa picked up a third consecutive victory, with Bruce masterminding an extremely impressive victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers, who have been by far the Championship’s standout outfit this season.

However, Villa hammered their rivals 4-1 at Villa Park, with goals from Albert Adomah, James Chester, Lewis Grabban and Birkir Bjarnason making Saturday a night to remember at Villa Park.

Villa now have the chance to record a fourth consecutive victory tomorrow evening, when they welcome Queens Park Rangers to Villa Park for a rearranged fixture.

Bruce’s side are in fine goalscoring form, having found the net on 11 occasions in their last three fixtures, and are a side brimming with confidence ahead of tomorrow’s contest.

Here at FLW, we take a look at Bruce’s squad and select the starting XI we believe he will field tomorrow…

Johnstone has proved to be a rock for Villa this season and he will certainly continue behind a defensive unit.

Right-back is perhaps Villa’s most competitive position, however, Elmohamady has made it his own with some exceptional performances.

Chester has two goals in his last two games, proving to once again be Mr Reliable for Bruce’s side.

Alongside Chester, Terry has helped to form one of the Championship’s best defensive partnerships.

Terry’s impact since arriving at Villa Park can’t be overlooked.

With Alan Hutton struggling with injury, Taylor should certainly continue on the left.

The Welshman completes an unchanged defensive unit.

Mile Jedinak took up this role on Saturday, but Bruce will be concerned about overusing the Australian and could drop £1.8m-rated Bjarnason into an anchoring role.

Snodgrass has been a key part of Villa’s attack this season, proving to be one of the Championship’s best wingers.

Hourihane is a key part of how Villa’s midfield works, proving to be the box-to-box player Bruce requires.

Grealish returned to the starting XI against Wolves and should retain his place.

The 22-year-old has slightly more freedom due to Hourihane’s presence.

Like Snodgrass, Adomah is amongst the best in the Championship.

Adomah was amongst the goals against Wolves and is playing with confidence on his return to the team.

Grabban looks like becoming the signing of the January transfer window, with the on-loan forward scoring goals and leading the line with real purpose.
