Middlesbrough are back in Sky Bet Championship action this weekend, with Garry Monk looking to lift some of the growing pressure off himself when Ipswich Town visit the Riverside Stadium.

Monk has come in for criticism this week, with Boro sitting ninth in the table, having lost three of their last four fixtures, which has left them six points adrift of the top-six.

Here at FLW, we take a look at the starting XI Monk could select for the visit of Ipswich, in a bid to turn things around for Boro.

Darren Randolph will certainly continue in goal, behind a back-four featuring one change from last weekend’s defeat to Bristol City, with £1.8m-rated Daniel Ayala coming back in to replace Dael Fry alongside Ben Gibson, with Cyrus Christie and Fabio continuing in the full-back roles.

Ahead of them, Jonny Howson should sit, alongside the returning Adam Clayton, with the two anchoring midfield.

An attacking trio of Stewart Downing, Martin Braithwaite and Adama Traore should continue, with Monk hoping that the latter can rediscover some of the form he showed during the opening weeks of the season.

That trio should line-up behind Britt Assombalonga, who has already scored 11 Championship goals this season.
