Aston Villa take on Reading tonight as they look to keep their automatic promotion hopes afloat.

The men from Villa Park look pretty assured of a play-off spot this season but they would surely like to go up in the top two rather than face that scrap.

There's currently ten points between them and second placed Cardiff but that gap can be shrunk to seven with a win tonight - though the Bluebirds will have a game in hand thereafter.

With that said, then, Villa can only apply as much pressure as possible with three points this evening and we've been thinking about their possible line-up v Reading tonight.

Here's how it could look...

Sam Johnstone will surely keep his place in between the sticks.

Ahmed Elmohamady could come back into the side.

James Chester should start this one.

John Terry is also likely to start alongside the Welshman.

Neil Taylor remains injured and so Alan Hutton will surely fill in down the left.

Robert Snodgrass will surely go down the right hand side of midfield.

£1.8m-rated Birkir Bjarnason could feature with Glenn Whelan injured.

Conor Hourihane could return to the team after being a sub last time out.

Albert Adomah will be in his usual place down the left of midfield.

Jack Grealish will play in behind the main striker.

Lewis Grabban should lead the line with Scott Hogan and Jonathan Kodjia on the bench.
